_____ personal projects

Looking back, I usually consider choir conducting was my first entry point into movement. The gesture pulls the voices together and assembles them in an alloy that actualizes permanently ; it generates sound, creates and builds the space of that sound. There is a constant exchange between the sonorous mass of the choir and the gesture that initiates it. A resonance from to person which falls within a resonance rom space to space : the one of the sonorous mass into the one of the place where this mass gets shaped.
Dancing has thus become to me a continuation of this movement. As a maker I needed to make the space and time of movement and the space and time of sound come together and match to enrich the materials I was dealing with in each practice.

_____ collaborations

The practice of singing made me feel desire for a work with multiple voices. This is one of the reasons why I am attracted by groups in the practice, and on stage. I have always been amazed to discover what different timbres can produce when coming together : a space opens up, which exists beyond the addition of every single voice this mass is made of / by. The group forms a "vocal being" that exists beyond the ensemble of individuals, but can also only exist through, and cannot exist without, the association of the voices which make it emerge on the moment.

This is also what motivated me to take part in the Sweet & Tender collaborations network, and in collaborative processes. I like to see organizational and decision processes as improvising choirs : there is a need to acknowledge that in this choice of coming together, the space made for listening is crucial to allow action to arise and organize, together.
